Since 1968, Chirakkal Automotive has been at the forefront of sheet metal engineering and fabrication, delivering solutions that combine strength, precision, and reliability. From our humble beginnings as a small fabrication unit, we have grown into a multi-plant enterprise spanning 125,000 sq. ft. of advanced manufacturing space in Chennai, India.
As a Tier-1 partner to leading OEMs in the automotive, defence, agricultural, and construction equipment sectors, we specialize in stamping, welding, tool design, and surface finishing. Press Shop
The press shop is at the heart of Chirakkal Automotive’s manufacturing capability. Equipped with a wide range of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical presses, our facility handles everything from thin-gauge precision parts to heavy-duty structural components.
With capacities ranging from 10T to 1000T, and press bed size up to 3500mm x 2500mm with maximum shut height of 2000mm, we are able to support both small-batch prototyping and high-volume OEM production with the same level of accuracy and consistency.
Tool Room
Chirakkal’s in-house tool room is a cornerstone of its manufacturing excellence. Equipped with a comprehensive range of machining equipment — including milling, drilling, turning, grinding, and plano milling machines — the facility enables us to design, build, and maintain high-precision tools and dies entirely under one roof.
By keeping tooling capabilities in-house, we ensure faster turnaround times, consistent quality, and reduced dependency on external vendors.
Robotic Welding
Chirakkal’s weld shop integrates advanced 6-axis robotic welding cells with positioners, delivering precision and consistency across high-volume production runs. These systems are designed to handle complex geometries with repeatable accuracy, ensuring every weld meets stringent OEM quality requirements.
By combining automation with intelligent controls and sensors, our robotic welding lines reduce variability, increase throughput, and improve safety on the shop floor. This enables Chirakkal to produce structural assemblies, frames, and critical sheet metal parts with uniform strength and finish — providing customers with components that perform reliably in demanding applications.
Surface Finishing
At Chirakkal, surface finishing is more than just appearance — it’s about protection, durability, and performance. Our facility is equipped with a conveyorized powder coating line and a NIHON PT pre-treatment setup, ensuring every component receives the highest standard of corrosion resistance and coating adhesion. This allows our parts to withstand tough operating conditions in automotive, agricultural, and industrial applications.
With a camel-type conveyorized oven and dedicated in-house lab testing, we ensure coatings meet stringent OEM specifications for both strength and aesthetics. Our surface finishing process adds a layer of confidence to every component we deliver — combining superior durability with a consistent, high-quality finish that enhances the overall value of the end product.
